SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Frontier Airlines is officially back in business at Sioux Gateway Airport in Sioux City. The flight left the ground Friday morning around 6:35 a.m. with 135 people on board. Just about every seat was filled on the Denver bound flight. Before the flight could take-off, the ribbon was cut, welcoming the Airline back to Sioux City.

Local dignitaries, including Mayor Bob Scott, Airport Director Curt Miller and members of the airport board were on hand for the celebration. The carrier first came to town to much fanfare in 2007, but pulled out just eight months later. Officials are optimistic it will be a longer run this time. Frontier will have three flights per week into and out of Sioux Gateway, with service to Denver.
