PILGER, NE (KTIV/US92) -

Roughly 100 people turned out to pray for those impacted by Monday's tornado in Pilger, Nebraska.

At St. Mary's Catholic Church in Norfolk folks showed up to show of support for the nearby community. Father Dan Andrews said that the vigil was called for from the out-crying from northeast Nebraskans wanting to lend a helping hand.

Father Dan Andrews said, "People want to do something and I think there is going to be a variety of ways to help out. But we thought we'd begin by doing' something that we think is the most effective and that's by praying for all the people who's lives have been changed so abruptly."

Andrews said that once the need is identified, the Norfolk parish will continue to help those in Pilger.
