Work to fix a sinkhole on Sioux City's northside will take much longer than expected

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

Work to fix a sinkhole on Sioux City's northside will take much longer than expected.

Last weekend's rainfall made the small sinkhole on Dupont Street even bigger.

Since then, crews have had to tear up part of the street to make repairs.

The closure will allow city crews to safely repair the sanitary sewer main in the area.

There's no word when Dupont Street will re-open.
