Rock Valley's mayor encourages homeowners to drop off damaged items

Rock Valley, Iowa, hit historic flood levels Wednesday.

Now, homeowners are dealing with the aftermath.

Mayor Kevin Van Otterloo said people on North Main Street, and in many other areas and businesses, are now in cleanup mode.

He encouraged people to bring all their damaged items from the flooding to dropoff spots in town.

"We've set up spots in town, so that they can bring it, so that we can get everything cleaned up and out of here, so then we can start the healing process," Mayor Van Otterloo said.

The Mayor said these spots are located at 17th and Main Streets at the Netherlands Reformed Church, and the west end of 17th Street at the Old Block Plant.
