PONCA, NE (KTIV) -  If you like to go for a run and get dirty at the same time, Saturday is your chance with the Norm Waitt Sr. YMCA's Dirty Bird Mud Run.

KTIV's Nick Filipowski got a sneak peak at the 17 obstacle 5K course before Saturday's mud-fest.

There will be even more mud and obstacles at the second annual Dirty Bird Mud Run.

"It is going to be fantastically muddy.  I don't know if it's going to be tough for everyone because no matter your athletic ability, you can complete the course. There's a whole lot of muck, mud and mess to get through out here," said Filipowski.

A mile and a half into the course, runners will have to find their way through the dark in the "Birds Burrow" mud tunnel.

"You're going to roll up over the mound and take a head first dive into our dark tunnel," said Chris DeRoin, YMCA Digital Marketing & Media Coordinator.  "Crawl all the way through the mud and the water. Hopefully after that, you're clear to go."

A little further down the course, it's time to overcome the fear of heights with the modified "Eagle's Perch" climbing wall.

"The main difference this year is that it is a lot taller," DeRoin said.  "Last year it was only eight-feet tall.  This year, we raised it up three feet, so it's 11-feet tall, and you can see the cool planks to get up and get over."

Finally, near the finish line, one of the most fun obstacles runners will get to experience is the 150-foot "Top Flight" zip line. It's a 150-foot ride over the Missouri River.
