Big Sioux levee deconstructed as flood concerns decrease

Crews began deconstructing the Big Sioux River levee on Wednesday. Crews began deconstructing the Big Sioux River levee on Wednesday.
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
The levee extension on River Drive in Sioux City's Riverside neighborhood is coming down.
    
Crews were on hand today hauling the dirt out of River Drive in city dump trucks.
    
They will also remove the flood pumps that were put in place behind the levee.
    
The levee was built last week when the Big Sioux River was expected to flood.
    
The National Weather Service is not predicting any more flooding.
