USDA offering housing assistance to families

Posted:

The USDA is offering housing assistance to families in rural communities effected by recent tornadoes.

USDA Rural development can offer repair loans of up to $20,000 with 1% interest for owner-occupied homeowners.

The funds can be used to fix damaged homes and appliances from the storms.

Grants may be available for applicants 62 years of age or older with low income.

Those funds can only be used to remove health or safety hazards, or make the dwelling more accessible for disabled.
