Repairs of 2011 Missouri River Flood damage finishing up

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - Part of a trail that was damaged 3 years ago from the historic 2011 Missouri River flood is now open for traffic

Flood water crumbled and cracked the cement of the trail that runs along the river and in front of Bev's on the River.

It hasn't been repaired until now.

The trail was the last item on FEMA's list of things to fix following the massive flooding.

"We had to prioritize various projects and this is just unfortunately put to the lower end of the priority list," said Jade Dundas, Public Works Director.

Officials say they will spread grass seed along the trail next week, but the trail is open for all to enjoy.
