Lemonade Day fundraising for the Children's Museum of Siouxland

Siouxland's youngest entrepreneurs handed over a boat load of cash on Monday, all in support of the new Children's Museum of Siouxland.

These young business men and women raised the money as part of Lemonade Days. Throughout the month of June, Kids set up stands across Siouxland selling the sweet and refreshing drink.

This is the second year Mara Aesoph-Holles participated in the fundraiser. This time around, she raised more than $1,000.

"I think it'll be really great to have the Children's Museum be there and I want to go there and know that I helped raise money to help make that. So I think that it'll be really cool," said young entrepreneur Mara Aesoph-Holles.

Board members with the Children's Museum of Siouxland said Lemonade Days is a way to get local kids involved in fundraising and learn what it's like to become a philanthropist.

"To see them get excited about this right now is just wonderful! Then they get to come to the bank and deposit their money and get to see where that's going," said Children's Museum of Siouxland Board Member, John Koupal.

The Children's Museum of Siouxland plans to break ground in August, and will open its doors to the public next summer.
