Another Round of Severe Weather Hits Siouxland

A suspected tornado touched down briefly near Hadar, Nebraska Monday morning and destroyed some outbuildings.
It also damaged at least one home near Hadar, but nobody was injured, according to the National Weather Service.

In Pierce, Nebraska lightning struck a home at 217 South 5th Street.  A fire truck responded to the scene, but Mike Flood of our Norfolk news bureau, US-92, reports that everybody inside the home was okay.  There was no fire and no real damage to the home, but those inside did have some rattled nerves.

The storm also generated hail up to 1.75 inches in diameter near Pender and Walthill, Nebraska.

In Sioux City, mainly rain fell, with some of the heaviest around 10 Monday morning.
There was also lots of thunder and the sirens went off at one point when there was a threat of winds exceeding 70 miles per hour.
