Siouxland housing websites help renters find places to live

Posted:
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - The Sioux City area is experiencing a housing crunch, but there are a few websites renters can use to help them find a place to live.

David Gleiser, the Director of the Woodbury County Rural Economic Development Department says the expanding workforce in Siouxland has increased the need for available apartments, housing units, and RV pads in the area.

Gleiser is encouraging local property owners to market any available rental properties they have and consider using online housing search locator services such as SiouxCityForRent.com, IowaHousingSearch.org and SiouxCity.Craigslist.org.

"These websites provide property owners with a tremendous service at no-charge," says Gleiser. "It gives them the ability to list their rental units, include photos and descriptions and manage their listings from the convenience of their computer or phone. It also gives them immediate exposure to the influx of out-of-town workers that are coming to Siouxland for business expansions such as CF Industries, Hard Rock Casino, MidAmerican Energy and Sabre. These websites are being marketed directly to these workers."
