Gov. Branstad visits Onawa, IA health care center

ONAWA, Iowa (KTIV) -

Governor Terry Branstad of Iowa paid a visit to a Siouxland community Wednesday to talk health and wellness.

Governor Branstad visited Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa, and toured the facility.

The Governor made several mentions along the way about the importance of facilities like Burgess in even the smaller communities of Iowa, as a part of his initiative to make Iowa the healthiest state in the nation.

Governor Branstad said the existence of those facilities is even more important, though, in that their quality health care makes life for those in rural areas, a lot easier.

"It's important to have quality health care available in all parts of the state. Our rural areas like this really need it. I'm really pleased, and I think the community should be proud of the kind of quality care that they have here," Governor Branstad said.
