Family, friends and flapjacks in Sioux City's Latham Park

Some Siouxlanders kicked off their Fourth of July with family, friends and flapjacks! Dozens headed to Latham Park in Sioux City's Morningside neighborhood Friday morning for the 8th Annual Benefit Pancake Breakfast. Proceeds from the feed help to maintain the park. Organizers said this breakfast is a great way to bring people into Latham Park, which is privately owned but open to the public.

"Fun way to start off Fourth of July and of course, a portion of the donations go towards Latham Park. Helping with the upkeep and the flowers and the work that we do here, the maintenance and things like that. So, it goes back into the community," said Matt Gigaroa, caretaker at Latham Park.
