Saturday morning, two cars collided at Pierce and 16th Streets in Sioux City. Sergeant Dane Wagner of the Sioux City Police Department said one vehicle was a Sioux City Police squad car and the other was an SUV.
The SUV was traveling eastbound on 16th Street, and the police vehicle was traveling southbound on Pierce Street.
Authorities say the driver of the SUV failed to stop at the stop sign, and directly after that the cars collided.
There were four passengers in the SUV. Nobody was injured. The driver of the squad car was transported to the hospital, but Sgt. Wagner says the officer suffered no major injuries.
Iowa State Patrol was brought in to handle the accident report.
