Major grant to help suicide prevention in northeast Nebraska

One Siouxland group has received a major grant to help those left behind when a loved one takes their own life.

Tuesday night the Northeast Nebraska Suicide Prevention Coalition was presented with a $10,000 wellness grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska.They money assist those who have been affected by suicide.

The President and Co-Founder of the Northeast Nebraska Suicide Prevention Coalition says that this grant will be used to start a second support group in northeast Nebraska aimed at young people.

Coalition members will soon travel to Indianapolis to receive training to start the youth support group.

The grant is part of a total $81,000 in wellness grants given by Blue Cross and Blue Shield across the state of Nebraska.
