New security cameras for Woodbury County Jail

The Woodbury County Jail will soon become more secure.

The country board approved the addition of 25 cameras today.

ECI of North Sioux City placed the lowest bid of more than $185,000.

It's part of a $1.2 million modernization project.

The bid allocates around $80,000 toward the cameras and more than $100,000 to increase the recording storage from six to 24 months.

Cameras are expected to be installed by October 31.
