Opportunities Unlimited got a special visit from Sioux City Fire Rescue

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -  Opportunities Unlimited got a special visit Friday from the Sioux City Fire and Rescue.

The fire department gave a hands on experience with their equipment to the residents of Opportunities Unlimited.

OU serves people with traumatic brain or spinal cord injuries.

The fire department gave them a tour of the rig by showing folks how some of the equipment works and the jobs that they do.

"We can only do so much so we rely on other people to help spread our message.  It's these kind of group settings where we can share that with the young people and hopefully have them learn it.  Have them go out and share that with their own family then that's going to make the community a lot safer." said Brian Thiele, Captain of Sioux City Fire and Rescue.

This is the second year in a row the Fire Department has done this hands on presentation at Opportunities Unlimited.
