OKOBOJI, Iowa (KTIV) -
The Brooks National Golf Course in Okoboji has played host to Iowa PGA and Pro-Am events in the past.
Friday, a different breed of players took to the green at the Bud Pearson Celebrity Golf Tournament.
Among the celebrities taking part, former Minnesota Vikings players Todd Bouman and NFL Hall of Famer John Randle.
The tournament took place today, complete with a meet-and-greet and awards ceremony at the end of the day.
All the proceeds from the event benefit the people served by the Pearson Lakes Art Center, which sponsors on the event.
But, it's also a chance for the Brooks Golf Course to show off.
"My first time out here, and it's a gorgeous golf course," said Randle. "Gorgeous surroundings and the great people I've met, and I'm enjoying myself."
"It's a beautiful course," said Bouman. "I've played many great courses around the United States, and this is as nice as it gets. It's a great area, great for the family. It's a nice mini-vacation before the football season starts."
KTIV Sports Director Brad Pautsch, along with KTIV's Regional Vice President and General Manager Jerry Watson, and his wife Sherrie, also took part in the golf outing.
