LE MARS, Iowa (KTIV) -
The Plymouth County Democrats have received and accepted a letter of resignation from former Chair of the local party, Jonathan Neunaber.
At their regular meeting, held July 14, Clayton Hodgson of Le Mars, Iowa was elected to serve as Chair for the remainder of Neunaber’s term and James Anderson of Le Mars was elected to serve as Vice Chair.
Officials said they appreciated Neunaber's more than a decade of service and dedication to the party.
The resignation comes after Neunaber is being held in the Plymouth County Jail on a material witness warrant.
Neunaber's parents were found dead last week in their rural Akron home.
Authorities said he is not a suspect in the case and no charges have been filed.
