Sac Co. Jail inmate now faces felony charges after trying to escape

SAC CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

An inmate in the Sac County Jail now faces felony charges for trying to escape after he scaled a security fence.

60-year-old Randy Barney of Rockwell City was in the exercise area just before 10 a.m. Friday when he scaled the fence and barbed wire barrier.

Deputies caught Barney while he was still on the property.

Barney was being held in the Sac County Jail for burglary charges out of Calhoun County.
