UPDATE: Authorities release the name of the driver involved in the train versus semi collision near Homer, NE

A train collided with a semi near Homer, Nebraska.

It happened shortly before 5:00pm, Monday night.

Deputies say the driver of the semi, 45-year-old John Levasseur, was stopped at the intersection of 225th Street and Highway 77, attempting to turn north but because of traffic he couldn't make the turn before the train collided with the trailer.

Levasseur was airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. Levasseur's condition has not been released, but authorities at the scene say the injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
