Four children escape fire in northeast Nebraska

Emergency officials are investigating what caused a late morning house fire just south of Newman Grove, Nebraska.

The fire call was made around 11:45 Tuesday morning at a home owned by John Johnson of rural Newman Grove.

Fire Crews from Newman Grove, Lindsay, and Albion all responded to the blaze, which took close to two hours to get under control.

Fire crews are looking at the garage as the place the fire potentially started.

The official cause of the fire is being determined at this hour by the State Fire Marshal's office.

The home owner says the home was occupied by his caregiver and her four children.

He says everyone was able to get out of the house before it engulfed the main part of the house.
