Man allegedly doused his home with gasoline

WATERLOO (KWWL) -

According to the Waterloo Courier a man has been arrested after he allegedly doused his own home in gasoline after an argument with his girlfriend.

Vu Thanh Nguyen, 41 was arrested for first degree arson and first-degree harassment. Officers responded to Nguyen's home after a strong odor of gas was noticed coming from his home. According to court records, Nguyen threatened to kill his girlfriend and then poured gasoline throughout his home. He allegedly said he wanted to burn the house down, according to state records. No fire was started, according to officials.

Nguyen is being held at the Black Hawk County Jail.
