PIERCE, NE (KTIV) -

More details have been released about the fatal collision of a semi and a pickup truck near Pierce, Nebraska Wednesday afternoon.  Pierce County Sheriff Rick Eberhardt says the driver of the semi, 66-year old Eldon Kassebaum of West Point, was killed after his rig crashed into the back of a pickup truck that was turning off of Highway 13.

The semi went into the ditch and rolled.  Two people in the pickup truck were not hurt.

The semi was hauling diesel fuel, some of which spilled.  Highway 13 was closed from Pierce to Hadar for several hours while the remaining fuel was removed and the semi-tractor and tanker were hauled away.
