SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -

You can satisfy your sweet tooth and help out a great cause.

Thursday is Children's Miracle Network Miracle Treat Day. All you have to do is head over to a participating Siouxland Dairy Queen, order a Blizzard, and they will donate a dollar or more to CMN.

CMN at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's provides treatment, services, and healthcare to Siouxland kids.

Miracle Treat Day is an important fundraiser for CMN. Last year, they raised $11,000. This year hope to raise $15,000.

"At St. Luke's Children's Miracle Network serves one child every 36 minutes. So whether it's through the emergency department, through our pediatric department or our NICU, we are helping babies and kids around the clock," says Anne Holmes with Children's Miracle Network.

All of the money donated form Miracle Treat Day and other fundraisers for CMN stays local to help Siouxland kids.

"It's a great fundraiser because of the needs of those families and be able to provide for those children where there might be a shortcoming," says Steve Hill with Siouxland Dairy Queen.

To date, Miracle Treat Day has raised more than $100 million nationwide.
