Health official: NE Nebraska tuberculosis cases could be tied to church

NORFOLK, NE (KTIV) - Public health officials in Northeast Nebraska are now investigating two confirmed cases of tuberculosis.

The Elkhorn Logan Valley Health Department in Norfolk, NE has contacted those they believe had contact with a student with TB at Park Avenue Christian School in Norfolk.

Officials say because school wasn't in session the risk of TB spreading will be very low.

Health officials were already investigation another case in the area.

They say the two cases may have a common connection.

Both Patients went to the same church.

Health officials say TB was discovered a while ago in the first patient and that person is nearing the end of treatment for the disease.

Here's a list of some of the symptoms of TB including fever: fatigue, weight loss, night sweats, a chronic really persistent cough, coughing up blood, and shortness of breath.
