Siouxlanders are getting a taste of the 1800's this weekend.
The Sergeant Floyd Memorial Encampment is set up along Sioux City's riverfront.
It features re-enactors, camping equipment, mock weapons and uniforms.
Randy Rumelhart has been a re-enactor since the encampment's inception more than 20 years ago.
He says today is important for those wanting to understand what life was like during the Lewis and Clark expedition.
"What we're here for today is to show people if they come out of the interpretive center or out of the museum, they can actually touch what they've see in there," said Randy Rumelhart, a Floyd encampment re-enactor. "They are prototypes of what they actually had on the expedition."
Rumelhart says people from as far as Asia have visited the encampment.
