KTIV's Kristen Johnson signs off for a final time on Sunday
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) -
I want to thank all of you for tuning in every weekend. It has been a privilege to come into your homes each night.
I also want to thank all of you who have sat down for an interview, especially those who had a difficult story to share. I hope in some small way I was able to help you through a challenging time in your life, and I am honored to be the one you chose to tell that story.
To all the military families who've I've gotten to know during my time here, thank you is not enough for the sacrifices you've made.
Thank you to everyone I worked with at City Hall every week and all of the leaders in Siouxland who while not obligated, always said yes to every request for an interview.
I want to give a shout out to the 2nd and 3rd graders I've volunteered with in Mrs. Greigg's class at Clark. I think some are now in high school! I had so much fun being part of your classroom. If you like kids, Every Classroom Counts is a great way to give back to the community.
Of course, I want to thank everyone past and present at KTIV who has taught me, encouraged me, and made me a better reporter and better person. I will miss working with you.
Three years ago, my boyfriend followed his dream out to Connecticut. We met at KTIV and have been dating for 10 years. He became my fiance and on September 2nd, he will be my husband. Proving once again that KTIV really is a family.
Josh's family has been like a second family to me, and I'm excited to really become part of the Woolridges and Bennigsdorfs.
Of course, thank you to my parents for always encouraging my dreams and helping them come true.
Thank you all so much for these past 10 ½ years.
I still have two more days to report, so if you see me out and about come say goodbye!
