So long, Kristen! - KTIV News 4 Sioux City IA: News, Weather and Sports

So long, Kristen!

SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - We never like having to do this, but it's time to say goodbye to a long-time member of the KTIV family.  After almost 11 years with Siouxland's News Channel, weekend anchor and reporter Kristen Johnson is leaving.

She joined the KTIV news team in late 2003 and it wasn't long before Kristen was flying high.  Over the past 11 years, she's covered it all; big stories and small.  Whether it be from the hallways of a Siouxland school, the top of a grain elevator or at the county fair, Kristen has always brought back the story.  There've been accolades and award dozens of gigs as host of Around Siouxland.  Since early 2008, Kristen has been the anchor of KTIV's weekend newscasts.  It's been a good run for oure red-headed friend from Chicago, a graduate of the University of Iowa. As she prepares to hand weekend anchor duties over to Robert Lowe, we wish her the best of luck.

So, where's she going?  In early September, Kristen is getting married to Josh Woolridge, whom she met while working at Channel 4.  Josh is a former KTIV master control operator who now works for ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut.  Kristen and Josh are getting married in a fairy tale wedding at Disney World and then going on a Hawaiian honeymoon, before settling back down in Connecticut.

We wish them the best in their new life together!
