PILGER, NE (KTIV/US92) - Taxes will be the topic at a special meeting Monday night in Pilger, Nebraska.

After a night of fun thanks to Bret Michaels Sunday night, residents in Pilger get back to the business of recovery.

The Pilger Village Board will be meeting in special session Monday night. An agenda for the meeting shows a number of discussion items, including property taxes.

Stanton County officials have pointed out in the past that because Nebraska property taxes are paid in arrears, meaning that anyone who owns a home that was destroyed by the tornado would still have to pay taxes on that property in 2015.  Pilger residents are slated to get an update on what that will mean for them, and for those that want to rebuild.

The meeting agenda does show another sign of the recovery progress as the Village Board is set to take up three more zoning permit applications.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in Pilger.
