BVU student charged in string of dorm burglaries

STORM LAKE, Iowa (KTIV) - A student at Buena Vista University faces more than a dozen felony and misdemeanor charges in connection with burglaries in seven dorm rooms at the Storm Lake School.  18-year old Justin Todd of North Carolina was arrested on campus Tuesday.  He's charged with seven felony counts of Burglary, four counts of Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card, felony Forgery and Possession of Alcohol.

Storm Lake Police say seven rooms in Pierce Hall were burglarized of cash, credit cards and personal items late Sunday and early Monday.  On Tuesday, police learned that one of the stolen cards had been used in several local businesses.  They checked the security video, identified the suspect and then arrested Todd on campus.  Police then searched his dorm room where they found cash, stolen credit cards and items purchased with the stolen cards.

Todd was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on $5,000 bond.
