Authorities say a Sibley, Iowa man is injured after the motorcycle he was driving was hit by an SUV in Osceola County.

The Sheriff's Office says 25-year-old Levi Christensen of Sibley was driving a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle northbound on County Road L-40 and 17-year-old Virginia Reyes of Sergeant Bluff was driving a 1998 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on County Road A-34. Authorities say Reyes stopped at the intersection. Thinking it was a four-way stop, Reyes then pulled into the path of the motorcycle driven by Christensen who tried to stop. The motorcycle slid on its left side, colliding with the rear of the vehicle driven by Reyes.

Christensen was taken by ambulance to the Osceola County Hospital. No injuries were reported to Reyes.

$4,000 in damage was reported to the motorcycle while the Jeep Cherokee sustained an estimated $500 in damage.

The collision took place shortly after 4:30 p.m.
