Senator Joni Ernst and Martin O'Malley share thoughts on Britain leaving the European Union
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) -
Two politicians passed through Siouxland, this morning, for separate events.
U.S. Senator Joni Ernst visited North High School in Sioux City to speak with veterans and she shared why she admires the British for leaving the EU.
"It shows the will of the people in Great Britain to move away from the EU," said Ernst. "Maybe the people feel that their government officials are not representing their interests."
Former democratic presidential candidate Martin O'Malley rallied Clinton supporters in Sioux City, and took the time to share why he believes Britain chose the wrong path.
"There is a temptation to just protest, to just break the table, and I don't think that is the way that we're going to figure out how to create sustainable economies, feed our populations, make sure our kids have more opportunities than we did," said O'Malley.
Both Ernst and O'Malley agree that Britain's departure from the EU leaves the organization's future impact hanging in the balance.
