Murphy USA kicks off Pink at the Pump campaign

A local gas station is helping raise money during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Murphy USA on Singing Hills Boulevard kicked off their "Pink at the Pump" campaign Wednesday.

The campaign helps raise money and also increases consumer awareness about cleaner burning E15.

During October, participating retailers will donate three cents of every gallon of E15 sold to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

The policy director for the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association said it was a great way to team up for a good cause.

"To be able to, not only to educate consumers about a healthier fuel choice, but then to partner and give money to a great cause that's helping to give free mammograms to women, education, support services for those who are battling breast cancer, it really means the world to us." said Grant Menke, Policy Director for the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association.

E15 is approved for use in all 2001 or newer vehicles.

Simply look for the pink handle at participating locations.
