MRHD awards more than $ 1 million to 23 non-profits on Thursday

The Missouri River Historical Development, Inc. (MRHD) awarded over $1 million in grants today to 23 Woodbury County non-profit organizations and governmental entities. 

The following are the groups and organizations that received funds: 
 

Economic Development; Tourism: $222,709.16

* Moville Community Development Association, sports court upgrade, $25,000

* Woodbury County Fair 4-H program, poultry/rabbit barn, $22,709.16

* Westside Little League, Kirk Hansen Complex renovation, $100,000

* Oto Community Development Corp., new sidewalks, $25,000

* City of Danbury, manholes, $25,000

* Makerspace Sioux City, equipment, $25,000

Human services; Health Services: $415,000

* Connections Area Agency on Aging, temperature-controlled Hot Shot truck, $35,000

* Mercy Medical Center Foundation, Child Advocacy Center renovation, $150,000

* Pierson Volunteer Firefighters Association, new cot and loading system, $25,000

* Crittenton Center Emergency Shelter, security and safety infrastructure, $50,000

* Jackson Recovery Centers, flooring for Women & Children’s Center, $25,000

* City of Bronson, lift station standby generator, $30,000

* Boys & Girls Home of Sioux City, Opportunities School furniture, $100,000

Civic, Public, Patriotic, Charitable, Religious: $188,000

* Lawton Firefighters Association, Inc., water tanker, $75,000

* Anthon Fire Department, breathing & turn-out gear, $53,000

* Miracle League of Sioux City, splash pad, walking path, musical park, $35,000

* St. Mark Lutheran Church, Sioux City, major campus improvements, $25,000

Leisure, Cultural, Historical: $50,000

* City of Sioux City, Parks and Recreation, War Eagle Monument lighting, $25,000

* Augustana Lutheran Church, Sioux City, exterior building repairs, $25,000

Education: $181,365

* Mary J. Treglia Community House, computer lab and projector for training, $26,365

* Woodbury County Agricultural Extension District, youth programs, $25,000

* Siouxland Christian School, new school security and technology, $100,000

* Sioux City Conservatory of Music, studios for lessons and practice, $30,000

Wednesday's distributions bring MRHD's total contributions since 1994 to $27,582,239. A non-profit organization, MRHD has the license to conduct gaming in Woodbury County. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City has the license to operate gaming in Woodbury County.
