Victim's autopsy complete in Plymouth County, IA homicide
AKRON, Iowa (KTIV) -
The Iowa State Medical Examiners office has released details from an autopsy in a homicide case near Akron, Iowa, last Friday.
The office says that the victim, 40-year-old Jeremy Hebert, died of shotgun wound to the chest and abdomen. The cause of death is ruled a homicide.
Investigators say the Plymouth County Communications Center received a call about the shooting at 13203 Evergreen Avenue just around 12:15am, last Friday.
Deputies say when they arrived they found Jeremy Hebert suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported by ambulance to Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
Hebert's wife, 33-year old Becky Hebert, has been charged with second degree murder. She is out of jail on a $25,000 bond. Her first court appearance will be on Friday.
