Even more warmth is on the way for our Thursday as well as more sunshine as this ridge continues to hold strong across the Upper Midwest. This will bring in more Summer-Like temps to the region with highs surging back into the middle 80s for many of us. A few southern neighborhoods may even climb into the upper 80s with towns across the north topping out close to 80°. I think the mugginess factor will be a little higher today compared to yesterday, with dew points getting into the lower 60s possibly. This will make it feel a little warmer and a bit more humid. By tonight, our next weather-maker is getting closer. It could spark up a couple of t-showers, mainly out toward far western Siouxland. Tomorrow, those chances creep east to include much of the viewing area so grab the umbrella just in case.
More widespread moisture looks to arrive by Saturday as this cold front moves eastward. There could even be some periods of heavier rainfall, especially heading into the overnight hours Saturday into the wee hours of Sunday. Some rain does look to linger into Sunday but we do look to dry out through the day with some peeks of sunshine possible by the afternoon hours. Temperatures will be much cooler over the weekend as well with cooler air filtering in behind the boundary. Highs look to rebound into the low to mid 70s Saturday with reading only in the low to mid 60s Sunday. Another moderating trend then looks to take shape as we step into next week with middle to upper 70s expected by Tuesday with lower 80s returning by Tuesday and Wednesday. Our weather pattern does look to remain active though with more rain chances by Tuesday and Wednesday.
