NORFOLK, Neb. (AP) - The Nebraska State Patrol says a crash in northeastern Nebraska has killed two people, including a small child.
The patrol says the crash happened Thursday afternoon at the intersection of Highways 81 and 13 just north of Norfolk. It happened when a sport utility vehicle turning west onto Highway 13 was hit by a southbound semitrailer.
Investigators say the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. Three small children were also in the SUV, and two were taken to a Norfolk hospital. The third was flown to an Omaha hospital.
The patrol says a child taken to the Norfolk hospital died there.
The driver of the semi suffered minor injuries.
Officials have not yet released the names of those involved.
This story has been corrected to show the vehicle hit was a sport utility vehicle, not a sedan.
