Northwest Iowa Man Injured In Fatal Tractor-Train Collision


Alta, IA (KTIV) - A woman is dead following a train accident near Alta, Iowa Saturday afternoon.

Police say 20-year-old Danielle Oxley of Wyoming was riding in a tractor driven by 21-year-old Nate Frank of Schaller, Iowa.

An accident reconstructionist concluded Frank drove the tractor onto the railroad tracks in front of an oncoming Canadian National Train,  though the reason why is still under investigation.

Also in the tractor, one-year-old Piper Oxley of Wyoming.  Both Frank and the baby were rushed to the hospital.

However, Oxley was pronounced dead at the scene.
