Siouxlanders turn to food pantry for holiday spirit
SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KTIV) - This holiday season more and more families are seeking help from local food pantries to put food on the table.
That's the case at the Center for Siouxland which has seen a 10 percent increase in need this year over last.
Officials with Center for Siouxland say many folks come to them for help so their family won't notice any differences in their holiday tradition.
"During the holidays, people really don't want their family to know, things are still a little bit tight, they want to provide that nice meal for their children," said Kim DeWitt, Community Relations Director Center for Siouxland.
Each year the center for Siouxland food pantry serves about 4,000 people.
