VERMILLION, S.D. (KTIV) - After Thanksgiving, the Christmas season will be in full swing, which means plenty of light displays will be going on across Siouxland. One of those will be the Standstill Prade of Lights in Vermillion, South Dakota.

On Dec. 2 from 6 through 7 p.m. those who head Vermillion’s Main Street will get the chance to floats designed by businesses and organizations across the area. The event is a little different than what you’d see at a traditional parade. Instead of the floats moving, people get the chance to walk by and check out the stationary floats while enjoying live music. Additionally, Santa Claus will be swinging by to officially light the Vermillion Christmas Tree.

The event is free and open to the public. You can learn more about it on
