(KTIV) - Health officials in South Dakota are reporting over 7,000 active COVID-19 cases in the state, while virus-related hospitalizations remain in the 200s.

The South Dakota COVID-19 dashboard shows total COVID-19 reported in the state have reached 164,292. Of those cases, 154,892 have recovered, bringing the state’s active cases to 7,080 and hospitalizations to 231. Since the pandemic began, 2,320 virus-related deaths have been reported in South Dakota.

Health officials say 986,676 vaccine doses have been administered to state residents, with 64% of the state’s five and older population getting at least one dose. Of that population, 53.25% of them are fully vaccinated and 14.16% of them have received the booster.
