Yotes move on to Summit League Championship over rival SDSU

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Volleyball can be just as unpredictable as any other sport. The University of South Dakota Coyotes found that out after a team that they had beaten 3-1 twice in the regular season took them into a fifth set in the semi-finals of the Summit League tournament.

The Jackrabbits jumped out quick and took the first set 25-20. Then the Yotes battled back in set two winning 25-18. USD won set 3 25-20 and seemingly had the game won up late in set 4. But South Dakota State battled back forced extra points and won the fourth set 26-24 to force a fifth.

In the fifth it was just as close as the first four with USD needing extra points to come away with an 18-16 victory in the fifth and final set. The Yotes will go on to face Nebraska-Omaha in the Summit League Championship game first serve is tomorrow at 2 PM in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center.
