(KTIV) - Health officials in South Dakota are reporting one million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered to state residents.

The South Dakota COVID-19 dashboard shows 1,001,864 vaccine doses have been administered so far, with 64.33% of the state’s five and older population getting at least one dose. Of the eligible population, 53.57% are fully vaccinated and 15.10% of them have received the booster.

Total COVID-19 cases reported in the state have reached 164,292, an increase of 2,852 since last Wednesday. Of those cases, 157,573 have recovered, bringing the state’s active cases to 7,222 and hospitalizations to 249. Last week, South Dakota’s active cases were at 7080 and hospitalizations were at 231.

Additionally, 29 more virus-related deaths have been reported in the state, bringing its COVID-19 death toll to 2,349.
