Chesterman Foundation donates $1M to Cone Park mountain bike trail
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - According to the Sioux City Parks and Recreation, the Chesterman Foundation has become a major donor of the proposed $2 million Cone Park Mountain Bike trail system.
According to the City of Sioux City, city staff has been working with Jay Chesterman of the Chesterman Foundation and the International Mountain Bicycling Association since the beginning of the year to plan out a trail in Cone Park and Sertoma Park.
Chesterman says, “Next year is our 150th anniversary as a company. We think supporting these trails is an excellent way to celebrate that milestone and give back to our community that has supported us so well through all the many years.”
The Chesterman Foundation donated $1 million and the City of Sioux City is to contribute $700,000.
