A couple quiet days before accumulating snow moves in on Friday
**Winter Storm Watch for western Siouxland from late Thursday night through Friday evening**
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - After a bit of light snow fell very early in the day on Tuesday, we returned to the sunshine for the rest of the day with highs getting back above average for many of us.
But a cold front moved through during the afternoon and behind we’ll be a bit cool again tonight with lows in the mid teens under mostly cloudy skies.
Our skies should brighten again by Wednesday morning and with a lot of sunshine look for highs in the upper 30s to lower 40s with some later day clouds moving in.
Thursday will be pretty nice as highs area able to get into the upper 40s under partly cloudy skies.
Then all eyes will turn to a storm system that looks to bring accumulating snow to Siouxland.
It could start on Thursday night with a bit of light snow developing, especially in western Siouxland, as lows will be in the upper 20s.
Then Friday is looking like it could be a full day of snow with highs in the low 30s and a north wind at 15 to 25 miles per hour.
It’s still a little too early to talk specific amounts but a few inches are going to be possible in the area and western Siouxland has already been put in a Winter Storm Watch from late Thursday night into Friday evening.
That snow should then move out Friday night making way for a sunny weekend.
I’ll much more about our chance of late-week snow tonight on News 4 at 5, 6, and 10.
