(KTIV) - Health officials in South Dakota are reporting 54% of the state’s eligible population has been fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

The South Dakota COVID-19 dashboard shows 1,032,324 vaccine doses have been administered so far, with 54.33% of the state’s five and older population getting at least one dose. Currently, 65.54% of South Dakota’s eligible population has received at least 1 dose of the vaccine, while 17.81% have gotten their booster shot.

Total COVID-19 cases reported in the state have reached 170,416, an increase of 6,124 since last Wednesday. Of those cases, 160,280 have recovered, bringing the state’s active cases to 7,752 and hospitalizations to 267. Last week, South Dakota’s active cases were at 7,222 and hospitalizations were at 249.

Additionally, 35 more virus-related deaths have been reported in the state, bringing its COVID-19 death toll to 2,384.
