SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The Morningside University football team left Tuesday morning to head to Durham, NC for the NAIA championship game.

Fans cheered the team busses on as they drove away from campus. They brought out all the cowbells and whistles, and the team received a police escort to Sioux Gateway Airport.

For one student attending the game, this is a highlight for his college yearbook.

“Pure excitement, everyone is ready for another national title. We are excited to be back in for our third time in less than four years. There’s gonna be a lot of students there. From what I am hearing on campus, talking with different people, is that there’s gonna be a lot of people there and some great turnout, which is fantastic,” said Garrett Arbuckle, a Morningside University student.

Morningside University takes on Grand View University Saturday at 5 p.m. central time.

KTIV’s Devin Reiners is traveling with the team and will have coverage leading up to the game starting Wednesday, Dec. 15.
