Community Action Agency of Siouxland and partners help families in need with Christmas presents
SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - The holiday season can be a tough time, financially, for some families. But, the Community Action Agency of Siouxland wants to make sure everyone has a good Christmas.
Every holiday season the Community Action Agency of Siouxland partners with churches, businesses and families to help make Christmas time a little easier for families in need.
The organization and its partners help provide Christmas presents for up to 750 children.
“We completely could not do that without churches helping us, businesses call and take names... families take names,” said Jean Logan, Community Action Agency Executive Director.
Community Action Agency Executive Director Jean Logan said it’s always great seeing the number of presents are brought in.
“This is the time of the year that I love the most about being at the Community Action Agency because all of those gifts are coming in. So, we fill up the board room and then we hurry and take all the gifts out to the families. Then another church comes in or a business comes in and we fill the board room full of gifts,” said Logan.
Folks stepping up for those around them in their community.
“People are so generous in this community. We fill the board room, we fill the hallways. You almost couldn’t step around here without stepping on gifts for children. And that’s absolutely fabulous,” said Logan.
Working to make sure everyone can have a very merry Christmas this year.
“The joy of giving gifts and seeing how excited families are to be able to have something to give their children for Christmas... it just warms your heart this time of year,” said Logan.
