SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - A man who is accused of sexually abusing a girl for several years did not appear in court Thursday, prompting a judge to issue a warrant for his arrest.

Nathan Reynolds, 22, is charged with two counts of third-degree sexual abuse involving a minor. He was scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 13 for plea taking and sentencing, but he was not present when his name was called. The defense for Reynolds requested a continuance, which was denied.

Court documents allege Reynolds sexually assaulted a girl multiple times when she was between the ages of 12 and 15-years-old. Reynolds was about 15-years-old himself when this began.

The abuse went on from about 2014 until 2018 when the victim, who was between 14 and 15 at the time, informed others about what was happening. At first, none of the individuals she told contacted authorities. But eventually, the victim’s mother found out about the abuse and a police report was filed. This led to Reynolds’s arrest and charges.
